Judges 2017

The Panel of Judges for the 2017 Broadbean National Online Recruitment Awards. As usual they have extensive experience of the current online recruitment sector. They are selected on the basis of this knowledge, and have no vested interested in the nominated websites. A separate consulting panel of industry experts are involved in producing the shortlist of Finalist sites, from the thousands of nominations we receive via NORAuk.com.

STEPHEN O’DONNELL

Founder of PC Evaluate, RECex, and the National Online Recruitment Awards. Stephen has been a professional recruiter for the last 30 years, and has owned and run successful recruitment companies since 1993.  PC Evaluate provides personality profiling services to employers throughout the UK.

Stephen O’Donnell is Chairman of the Judging Panel.

NEIL MORRISON

Neil Morrison HR Director at Severn Trent plc, was until recently Group HR Director for Penguin Random House UK, the world’s largest general book publishing company. A member of the CIPD with 20 years experience in generalist and specialist HR roles, including time spent leading resourcing teams. Neil is also an experienced HR blogger and sector commentator.

LISA SCALES

Lisa Scales recently exited as the Co- Founder of Tribepad, the multi-award winning next generation recruitment platform used to great effect by some of the world’s largest employers.

 

STEVE OTHEN

Steve-Othen-Bio-Picture70x70Steve Othen is the Head of HR at the REC. Steve has held various roles, including Corporate Membership Manager, Organisational Change Manager, Head of Service Delivery and Acting Director of Member Delivery. Steve assumed his current position of Head of Strategic Projects in July 2013 and manages, among other projects, the Good Recruitment Campaign and has shared responsibility for internal HR.

Melanie’s background is predominantly in Recruitment where she has delivered change programmes to implement direct sourcing models in a number of organisations.

Steve Barnhurst is the Sales Director for our awards partner, Broadbean Technology, and has been a NORA judge for several years. He has Over 20 years experience working within the recruitment sector as a recruiter, Trainer, COO and more recently, a supplier to the industry.

Shortlisting Panel

In advance of the judging stage, we have a Selection Panel of industry experts, who will assess all websites nominated by jobseekers, and produce our shortlist of Finalists.  To ensure transparency in the awards process, this group are quite separate from our Judging Panel, but just as vital to the NORAs.

The criteria to be used in judging will include:

1. Ease of use, design, layout & speed.

2. Volume of available vacancies.

3. Volume of claimed visitors, where applicable.

4. Available facilities for jobseekers. This will include the availability of mobile websites and applications, and integration with social media channels.

5. Prominence in targeted market.

Sites will be judged from the point of view of a jobseeker, and what benefits candidates best. Recruitment websites which are not mobile friendly on small screens, will not be considered.
