Finalists FAQ

Many congratulations if your website is announced as a Finalist for the NORAs 2024!   We expect the competition this year to be more fierce than ever. Last year we received 11,572 nominations for 461 separate websites.

As our nominations come directly from the general public, many sites are submitted to us without your knowledge.  Let me try to answer some of your questions here.

Q. How did we get nominated?

A. We invited nominations from the public from July each year, until 30th August. You may also have registered for our 1-Click nomination process (where you display a nominate graphic on your site) or been nominated via the online form on this website.

Q. How are the Finalists decided?

A. We have assembled a Shortlisting Judging Panel of industry experts.  Our judges assess the nominated sites in each award category, from the perspective of a job seeker.  The Finalists are those websites and recruitment services which we believe offer the very best service and user-experience to candidates.

Q. Can we announce that our site is a Finalist?

A. Yes, of course. Please feel free to announce to your candidates and clients via any marketing channel. As soon as you are announced as a Finalist, you can immediately start using this logo.

Q. Where can I get a copy of the Finalist logo?

A. Download copies of these logos here.  You can also download additional graphics here for the NORAs logo, and the group of finalists for your award category.

Q. Are there any other benefits?

A. Yes, as Finalists, you automatically become members of the NORA Academy.
This also means you will be able to vote for the NORA Academy Award this year, and for all subsequent years. Membership of this exclusive group is only open to NORA Finalists and Winners.

Q. When are the Winners announced?

A. The NORA 2024 awards in-person event will be on Wednesday 6th November, at our fabulous venue The Carisbrooke Hall, near Marble Arch, London. Unlike many industry awards, the NORAs are relatively informal, with not a tuxedo or ball gown in sight. Regular tickets are only £100 plus VAT – and early bird discounted tickets at £80 are available till Sunday 10th Sept.

NORA Finalists also benefit from a 30% discount on tickets – please contact us for the discount code.

Q. Is it essential to attend the awards event on the 6th November?

A. Yes, if you want to make the most of your achievement, and accept your award on stage. Considerable marketing surrounds our event, and our winners photos accepting their trophy on stage are distributed widely.  Whilst not absolutely essential, it would be a little awkward to be announced as a winner, and not be there to accept. If it really is impossible for you to attend, please let us know in advance. Call us on 0141 637 9000, or email stephen@NORAuk.com.

Q. What is the format of the awards event?

A. The in-person NORAs are deliberately informal, with no firm dress code. No need for tuxedos or ballgowns, and no need to purchase expensive tickets for fancy chicken dinners. Our event will focus on celebration and networking, and is a fantastic opportunity to recognise the work of your own staff as well learn about your peers representing the pinnacle of online recruitment excellence.

Q. What do we do if we win?

A. With only a small number of Finalists in each award category, there is a very good chance that you will be announced as a Winner. If you are, then you will be invited on stage, where you can say a few words of thanks to your team, the jobseekers who nominated you, and to the NORA judges.  Our Winners are also publicised widely, and reported in industry magazines and websites, so it’s important to be at the event.

Q. Should I contact the NORAs organisers for more details?

A. Yes please!  It is essential that we have contact details for every one of this year’s Finalists.  Please call us direct on 0141 637 9000, or email stephen@NORAuk.com for more details.

Are there any other activities before the awards?

Yes, every week we plan to host the NORA Webcast Series online. In these shows, we profile Finalists and former winners, and aim to give an insight to how their website was created, and what makes it award-worthy. Please let us know if you would like to be a guest on one of our shows.
You can see previous shows here. https://norauk.com/blog/

Q. What do we need to do now?

  • Firstly, contact us directly, so we have a main point of contact for you.
  • Please let us know who will be accepting the award at our event, if you are successful. We would want to invite that person on stage, and ask them to say a few words. To coordinate with that person on the day, we will need a mobile number for them.
  • Please email us a good quality copy of your logo. We will use this in the awards show, and on our website.
  • Please watch out for notifications on our Twitter account, where we will also tag you with news.
  • Lastly, please feel free to share your achievement among your company, also on social media, and in using the NORA graphics.
