For the past 18 years, the National Online Recruitment Awards has been the only recognition of excellence in online recruitment which has the interests of candidates at its core. We ask jobseekers to make the initial nominations (over 21,000 received this year), and then instruct our immensely experienced judges to assess all 623 nominated sites from the perspective of a member of the public searching for, and applying to, jobs via the online processes available to them. This is the fundamental reason why the NORAs exist.
In addition to this, however, we have a very special award where our members are able to vote directly for their peers in this industry, and choose the organisation that to them represents the very best in online recruitment practice. Our membership includes every one of the 400 organisations which have been finalists and winners in the NORAs over the past 18 years. These organisations have themselves achieved a level of excellence, which means they know the good stuff when they see it.
At the beginning of October we asked NORA members to select from the current list of Finalists, their top 3 recruitment websites (in order) and submit their votes to us. This means that the NORA Academy Award is uniquely the only peer recognition prize, in an industry that is notoriously competitive.
Last year this award was won by McLaren Technology Group, just ahead of The National Trust, and Anchor Trust.
