The Wooden NORA

After careful consideration, we have decided to introduce a new award for this year only. As it is the thirteenth year of the NORAs, which is considered unlucky for some, we have decided to seek nominations from the public for the website,or online recruitment service, which has most failed to meet the expectations of jobseekers. Like the Wooden Spoon, this award is no accolade for excellence.

Whilst there is an element of fun to adding this award (for this year only), the nomination, shortlisting and judging processes remain the same as our other awards.  In doing so, we are not looking to scapegoat any particular website, but rather to highlight the ways in which some otherwise professional recruitment services seem to go out of their way to thwart and frustrate jobseekers.  Sites which are well publicised, and well known, but that singularly fail to deliver a service at the level to which jobseekers have come to expect, could be shortlisted for the Wooden NORA.

This award is open to sites across the entire recruitment sector, and can include job boards, employers, recruitment agencies and publications.
